I'm too cheap to be picky right now. My money is going into adding this turbo and acquiring track time. On my 14" wheels I have four year old RS2's, and on my 15" wheels I have some run of the mill all-seasons I got from one of the local used tire places for $15 apiece mounted, lol. And they were plenty of fun at Road Atlanta. I'm sure I could have been faster with better tires, but once you get on the bumpstops in a corner, you have all the tire you need until you add more spring.

The old guys say a crappy tire is a better teacher so I guess I'm getting schooled. I ran the 15's on Saturday and the 14's on Sunday.

I'm glad this discussion about DD tires for occasional auto-x duty, keeps getting steered towards track tires.

None of the tires mentioned have deviated from DD tire for auto-x duty. Granted we have left the 300 treadwear arena it would seem.

i think im going with the nitto neo gens.

The Neo Gens are great in the rain, if anything you're sacrificing dry grip for wet.

The tread is fairly deep, making them a little bulky when fresh. Hopefully they won't be heat cycled by the time I get the tread down a bit.

well the way i look at it, tire discounters has them for 99 a tire. i get a discount there because of a club member, which should knock off a little bit, making them fairly cheap. and they look like decent dd tire.

I'm showing $75 over at onlinetires.com, for a 205/50-15s. Are you looking for a different size?

Nope that's the one. I dont know what mounting and balancing will run though.
Ps: I'm still open to suggestions, I have another month before I pull the trigger on anything.
