Good to hear Steve!! I will take a few pictures of the grinding and cutting and post my impressions later next week as I get these put on the car. I am even more excited now about RA! Is that your next event or do you have another between dec. and now?

Road Atlanta is my next one. I need to get my ride height zeroed in where I want it and then seek out an alignment. I could have done better with 7" springs in the front instead of 8" if I wanted to go any lower. I'm bottomed out on my adjustment up there and still about a half inch higher than I would prefer for looks but for functionality I'm sure it is better. I may just raise the rear slightly and call it done. Raising the rear will add travel which I might need anyway considering these rates are a little light for track duty. Did I say that I'm at 448/275 for rates? I had remembered incorrectly that the 8k spring I have was a 400lb but it is really a 448lb.

Gotcha! yea, I haven't put mine on yet, but I have full range of movement for the most part. I can go as high as the threads on the shock rod, and can go low enough to be on the bumpstomps pretty much. Thats just from setting the springs on the perch and adjusting it with no load of course.

I just finished the grinding and cutting, so I will snap some pictures of the finished. I wonder if I should worry about the exposed part of the aluminum threads? should I put some paint on it or just not worry about it?

Also, are you still using the shock boot?

Being Lazy, you guys only get one picture:

I didn't get a shock boot with these. These were 400 mile take-offs. A local guy with a NB went to the dealership and told them he wanted to order all of the sportier suspension stuff for his car and they sold him the 2000 Hard Bilsteins and the stronger stock front and rear springs. His wife HATED it so he had to take it all back off and sold it to me off Craigslist. They looked prettier when I first got them and everything was in plastic bags.

What aluminum threads? On the coilover adjuster? They'll be fine. From the discussion in the m.net thread they are pretty well all anodized even if they look like bare aluminum.

My suspension settled nicely after driving it a bit. It came down half an inch in the front. I redid the rear to raise it back up some and I've got it about like I want it. I'm leaving enough room for my 15" spare set of wheels to not rub or bottom out. It sure does ride well like this.

does the stock boot not fit? I guess it really doesn't make a big difference right?

I don't need no stinkin' boots. I like to see what's going on under there. I think those are for salted road rust prevention on the rod and other such nonsense. Either way, I don't have 'em and I'm not bothered by it.

wtf? So, after all this ------- work, I just looked under my car and there is a nice big puddle of shock fluid under my rear passenger shock. I haven't even driven the car yet. Hell, I am still torquing everything down . I realllly need my car to be up and running.

through what? I ground the little tab, the leak is from the seal at the shock body and the shock rod.
