Monocraft MM1? Anyone know about this car?
(Sorry if this is the wrong place, I'm a newb so forgive me)
I have to be honest, I wasn't a Miata fan. Quite frankly I didn't hate the little car, I just never considered it. But then I saw the Gearz Banshee project and haven't been able to get the Miata out of my mind.
In all my meanderings around the internet I came across old pictures (well at least several years ago) of a Japanese modification of the Miata. I know veterans have to have seen it.
The Monocraft MM1
Is this a kit? Is it obtainable in the U.S.? Or was this something whose time has past. I've tried posting on Japanese websites asking about it, but haven't gotten any responses.
The only thing I know is that apparently they were built by Monocraft of Japan. But apparently they're not building them anymore.
Does anyone know anything more about these? I really like the front end on this car.
(Please tell me if I need to post this question somewhere else.)
Thanks
Ed

The only options these days for a rebody for the Miata are the Simpson Design kits or the FM Westfield, to my knowledge.

Thanks for the response.
Yes, I like the Italia, which is what they used building the Banshee. But to me the Monocraft design stays truer to the MX-5's lines. In a weird way the design looks more natural, if you can use that word to describe a machine. It just blends better.
The Italia, and Simpson Designs other designs are more of complete conversion. I like it, but it's expensive, and a near miss IMHO. It looks like an amalgamation of an Opal Manta, with hints of C-3 Corvette, Ferrari, and Jaguar thrown in.
I don't want to totally change the design of the Miata, just enhance it.
