We did this last year and it was fun. Buy in will be $30 and there will only be 10 teams allowed.
Unless we get enough interest to do two leagues, one for each site.
Payout will be 60% for 1st place ($180), 30% for 2nd place ($90), and 10% for 3rd ($30).
I think as far as $$$ goes, I'll leave it at that, with no pot for trades/drafts.
Any of you interested?

Interested.
2 questions:
1. Why 10 teams and not 12? Every 10 team league I've played has felt too shallow -- every team looks like it's stacked with great players, and weekly outcomes become a coinflip for whoever gets luckiest. Granted, this is perception (I'm sure someone who only plays 10 team leagues would feel like a 12 team league is impossibly deep), but I prefer 12 team leagues by far.
2. ESPN or Yahoo? Strong vote for Yahoo here. ESPN charged $5 for its bug-ridden mobile app last year, and then midway through the season pushed an update that introduced an ad banner. Yahoo, on the other hand, offered a free app that worked from day 1 (can't remember if it had ads, but if it did, they weren't obnoxious).

yahoo.
last year I think we had 13 teams. It was stupid because all the good players were taken and benched. Those with a shitty draft had to pick between 1or 2 point players for the week, if not -10 points. Pretty much those who had the best draft, had the highest points each week. I think Bond had a week where all his star players were not playing that week and he still pwnt. Shueind possibly had the worst draft ever, and low-and-behold he was last place.
I won our league out of shear will power and back door ball tickeling, but I had weeks of losses and pulling hair to pick the best replacement for my shitty team, i think i ended the season with something like 45 pick ups.
I'll consider 12, but no more than that. dropping that 13th team does free up a lot of player in itself.

IIRC we had 1 WR/RB, 2 WR and 2 RB. I had zilich for WR. all my RB got injuried and I had a few weeks where i was barely making points. I got lucky when I'd randomly pick up Torain on a good day.

not much to it.
do you even wathc football?
basically we all make teams, then there's a draft.
once you get your team, you fill your starting players up.
so
1 QB
2 WR
2 RB
1 WR/RB
1 Kicker
1 Defense
you get points on how well your players perform. So putting the right players on the bench or to score get points is how you win.
for example, if your QB throws a TD, you get 7 points. If your kicker then scores the extra point, he makes 1 point.
if your players suck, or you find someone else is a free agent you want to pick up, you can drop a player and pick him up. There's 1 or 2 weeks a team will not play, so you need to strategize your players and who to bench when. you can also trade with other teams.
that's about it in a nutshell. makes watching the games a little more interesting when you have key players that you want to pwn n00bs hard.
Putting the money up front gives you an incentive to play. That's a pretty nice payout if you can make top 2, third place at least makes his buy in back.

The buy in is going to be $30 to play. Max of 12 teams. 60% goes to winner, 30% to 2nd place, and 10% to third.
I'll figure the payment out later. Snag a seat!
