Hell, this should be fun and sometimes it's good to have new site to play in

 

I'm wondering if anything will be different than Miata.net? I think if there is something decidedly different, then this site can succeed, but if it's the same thing just at a different URL, there's really no reason for people to switch over.

 

What needs to be different?

I mean, we certainly arent trying to replicate any one site, including MT.

What do you think this site needs to succeed aside from content (which will come over time)

 

I think that fact that MT.net people will be the initial majority of the members will make this site different enough. IDK if that is a good or bad thing.

 

Well, like I said, I think it needs to offer something different than Miata.net. Otherwise, what would motivate people to move here? It would probably just be the same people talking about the same things. I'm not trying to say it's a bad idea, I mean...I'm here, obviously, so I'm excited about what might happen here.

 

I'm hoping for a non-trolled, non-oldfart site where I can waste the other half of my day that I don't waste on MT.net.

 

What I would like to see, is maybe a locale-based section. Miata.net is great, but I've never actually met anyone from it.
