Default advice on buying a car

Ok, so I found a Van to my liking. I drove it tonight and it runs great, new brakes, rotors, tires have plenty of life. Needs an oil change soon and new trans and diff fluid as they have never been changed I suspect.

Anyways, whats important is I need advice on what needs to be done when buying the car. What do I need to get from the owner other than keys and title? How do I go about changing it from Florida to NC tags? Lastly, I just need to fill in the new information on title and get a title transfer at DMV to get the title stuff finished?

GO ahead and educate me (or point in the right way), I am a NC resident.

pics of said vehicle, what motor, as far as title and such, when i bought my ranger it was a WV title. took the title into the title office here in ohio and they took care of it within a few minutes and handed me the one in my name. went to the dmv and got plates.

The car is clean, has paint scratching all along the right side step plate. but I will probably just spray can that so it doesn't rust and put stickers or something over it.

Spaceous, has some tv ---- in the back the rear seat folds out into a bed.

I will probably remove the middle row to make space for parts. I will get the transmission and differential fluid changed and probably a factory manual for it. Thankfully the 5.4L is a timing chain, because working on the engine in a van looks to be an absolute nightmare...

Sixshooter, let me know what you think. I saw a few other vans local and they were in much worse shape tbh. plus this one is light on the miles and has never been used for towing.

well as the TSB shows, thats on the newer engines. this is a 2001 and doesn't seem to be affected by it.

BTW, I read about this earlier and it freaked me out till I saw the TSB.

I know the dealership will do it for you. or just take it to a machine shop, they will get that ---- out in a jiffy for a 100 bucks probably.

I looked at all the 2001 E-150 TSBs and they seem pretty minor. (excessive engine braking, some suspension clungs, a shimmy from steering which this one didn't have). I did see two that dealt with the transmission and after further looking up, I am not really sure how to figure out if they apply to this E-150 or not. Any advice there? there is no VIN range or anything to help me identify which E-150s this applies to.
