Default Newbie from Louisiana

Hi All,

Recently purchased my first Miata. I've loved the Miata since they were first released and have finally reached a point in life where it could become reality. In other words, I've reached my mid-life crisis. But I'm okay with that.

The pic attached to this thread shows my 2007 Miata Sport (w/ Conv. pkg). Only 20K miles on this baby. Silver with all black interior. She is stock from top to bottom and I currently don't have any plans for major mods. I'm just enjoying the feeling of cruising the back roads with the top down here in Louisiana.

My biggest issue right now is keeping the neighbor's cat off the roof. I've tried several options which don't include actually harming the cat (feline repellant, etc.); My latest solution... vinyl carpet runners turned upside down (spikes up). Seems to work well and the kids appreciate the humane approach. If anyone has other ideas, I'm open to them (except for disposal of the cat, the kids will not approve ; ) ).

That's about it for now, I look forward to participating in the forums when and where I can.

Allen

Very nice Miata, and Kudos for trying a humane approach to the cat issue. Have you tried telling the cat that you [I]want[I] it to sleep on the top? Reverse psychology, cats only sleep where you don;t want them to.

I gave up on trying to keep the cat's off the top, so I just laid an extra floormat across the top at night. I couldn't figure out any other way.

Baton Rouge, nice area. I was stationed in Orange TX for a bit, and spent a lot of time in Calcasieu Parish. AKA The armpit of the U.S. A few times we traveled up to Baton Rouge, it's MUCH nicer than southern LA.

Congratulations on the purchase, you'll have a blast with it. These cars are a riot even without any mods.

Oh, and we need MOAR pictures.

Welcome! Sounds like a great buy my friend!
I hope you enjoy it thoroughly!

And funny on the cat that is trying to get on your Miata, it is just to awesome that it wants to go for a ride itself =P

Welcome and nice to see some NCs joining here. As for the cat, when you give up on the alternative solutions, come see me for the sure fire ones.

GRM has done a lot of modding and performance testing/autox the NC and loves it. If you ever go that route, check out what they have to say. Great platform, just soft OEM suspension.

I just saw two beautiful NC's at this weekends autox that were running the Begi Turbo. One was a 2006 Blue and the other a Cooper Colored car with Gold RFP1s. Beautiful cars and very fast.
