Hello, miata world! Just purchased my first miata. 99 nb which after the first 3 seconds of being in the car i discovered had LSD. P/O was a customer at the garage i work at. Was serviced at my shop the last 7 years. only 78K on the ticker. P/O had done some pretty good upgrades; Flying miata control arms. hard dog roll bar. williams 6 point harness and a CIA. vehicle also came with 3 sets of wheels and tires. a set of 1st gen 949 15"x9"s with hankook rs3's on them(very good tread left). and two sets of factory wheels, with summer and winter tires. summer tires are 10 years old (might just have to do a drift event in these to warrant buying new ones. lol). Unfortunately, (due to previous poor decisions) i don't get my license back for another month. however, I am excited to join the miata community. plenty of upgrades to come. But, i think ill just spend this summer racing it as much as possible and getting acquainted with the car.

Congrats on the buy. Miatas make terrible drift cars because of their low polar moment of inertia, but that makes them fantastic track cars. It sounds like the PO had a good idea what to do to get the most out of the car so it is probably set up well. Those old tires might be just what the doctor ordered for a couple of track weekends before replacing them with a fresh sticky set. You will know how to handle the car on a track by then.

What tracks are you looking to run?

They are not good drifters. Just thought it'd be a fun weekend to burn up some old tires. Planning on autox as much as i can. Also, going to try to make it to Road America this summer.

I always loved that color on a Miata. And it really looks great with the nickel 6ul's.

Thanks gents. I love the color as well. Dark blue looks good on just about anything in my opinion. The fat tires rub at lock. But, coil overs should eradicate the clearance issue.

Boom Boom, where do you race?

Nowhere yet. I've got a lot of work ahead before I can make that happen.

Welcome to the board! Sounds like you got a great buy there. I wish I had the space to hold 3 sets of wheels in my garage!
