Default New here, looking into getting a miata.

Hey guys, my name is Justin and i'm obviously new here. I'm looking into getting a Miata but not quite sure what to get. I'm looking at a 2000 5-spd manual MX-5 w/ 98K miles, it has a clean car fax and only one owner for 5900. Is this a fair deal? Should I shoot for 99-2000 for the heads or just '95 and above for OBD1? I've never owned a Miata before but I'm needing one in my life right now. Any advice is greatly appreciated guys, thanks for everything!

I'm very excited to join the family soon

The 2000 sounds like a pretty good deal if it is in good shape.

Anything '94 and up is good but the '99-up definitely has some advantages.

I'd go for the 2000 and up. I would venture to say that the NA has the most "true to form" look and feel but on paper the NB and on is better. This is all conjecture considering I've never driven one and only recently acquired my first NA, which I have yet to physically park in the stable.

I checked my "black book" and if I were to buy a miata at wholesale with exactly the features you mention, i would pay up to 5300 depending on condition. I would then turn around and sell that exact same car for around 6500. So if you want the car and have the funds, let your mind rest. The deal is fair for both parties i believe.
