Default RoadsterSport "Q" installed

I picked up a used RoadsterSport "Q" exhaust, but it's made for a car with the appearance package which my car doesn't have, so it's longer than the standard RSQ. I was originally going to have a couple inches removed between the tip(s) and exhaust pipe(s). But I decided to install it as is and see what it looks like. Although it sticks out I think it looks fine, and sounds awesome. I read that this exhaust is about 10 - 15% louder than stock but I don't think it is. With the baffles installed I would say it's maybe 5% louder, and with the baffles removed it might reach the 10% louder than stock estimate. So what do you think? Should I relocate the tips. - Dano

I think the tips are fine. I wouldn't screw with it. They look good.

Thanks for the feedback folks, looks like we're all on the same sheet here. At first I didn't think the longer tips would work. But at the advice of Brian I decided to install it to see how it looks. I think it looks just fine as well so I think I'll leave it alone.

Actually, I wasn't crazy about the way the OEM tips were so far under the rear plastic panel. I was concerned about the possibility of melting over time. But with this exhaust extending out beyond the panel, there are no possibilities of melted plastic.

So for others who may find a good buy on an exhaust for an NC designed for use with the appearance package, here ya go. Now we all know what it looks like on a base model. - Dano

Looks like you need to post a video so we can hear this... You know, for educational purposes...

Yeah, I've been planning to but just haven't found the time or the weather has been crappy. I'll try to get a clip this weekend....for educational purposes.

I just picked up one from Brian, sounds great, and only took a few minutes to install. I like the look of the longer tips on yours. really a nice upgrade in my opinion

Ugly tips should be short and hidden to the extent safely possible. Good looking tips should be tastefully visible.

Yours are good looking. Keep 'em where they are!
