Default New 2014/15 MX-5

Ok folks, i have decided to purchase a new mx-5 and was hoping that some of you can give me good reasons to do so. My current 97 miata has been a wonderful project i bought on e-bay about 5 years ago and i have really enjoyed it. On a recent miata club ride through the twisties of the california central coast, some fellow members spoke volumes of their newer nc cars and my wife really likes the power hard top roof system. Don't need two miatas in the family and we really like all of the niceties of the newer models. If you can give me reasons not to go with this, them let your views be known before i take this big step!

Well, forget about my previous posting. I have decided NOT to buy a new MX-5! Too darn expensive! Now looking for a gently used NC with lots of goodies on it but with lower miles.

Found a 2011 MX-5 with only 3708 miles on the odometer. Former lease car. They are asking about $22,500, a bit high according to KBB but it was hard to compare with those low miles. Will post later upon in-depth inspection and road test. Keeping fingers crossed!

Well it goes like this....checked out that 2011 MX-5 yesterday and took it on a thorough test drive. WOW was I disappointed! Sure its styling is nice as are all of the "creature comforts", but the car drove like a sub-compact! Gone is the feel of putting the car on and controling its every move. It felt like every other people mover going down the road. Gone is that raw feeling that a true sports car is supposed to give the driver. We are going to keep our good old 97 and relish in its wonderful oldness!
