Default OEM Cruise Control Help Needed

Have completed all install of parts on my 2000 base model for cruise control EXCEPT the cc switch on the dash. My car came with flog lamps. I removed the fog lamp switch and want to install a combination switch for fog lamps and cruise. However, can't seem to locate the connection in the wiring harness for the combo switch to plug in.

Does it make any sense that Mazda would have two wiring harnesses - one a fog lamp car and one for a car with fog lamps and cruise?

Would it help to remove the steering wheel and cowl to get a better look at what connections might be behind the dash?

Are you the same Andyb from m.net? I see we have been working on this for a while, you responded in my thread back in 2010! Factory cruise wiring help! - MX-5 Miata Forum (I'm EvoOrange2k over there)

My cruise still does not work, but I haven't touched it in... a while. I need to take a weekend and sort out the wiring diagram and figure out exactly what is missing, but I think the answers are in that thread, or the one with the link at the bottom. I've still got the big *** box of cruise parts, but I think I'm going to give up if it does not work again, after revisiting this for the 4th or 5th time.

My conclusion is that yes, Mazda did in fact use different harnesses in the 2000 cars with fogs, and fogs with cruise. I'll try to document
