Default ECU reflash ?

I just bought a 1990 Miata, and of coarse I've already spent 3 times what I paid for the car modifing it. (Lowered suspension, Headlights, Etc.)
It has a stainless exhaust with a high flow cat and a free flow air intake.

Can I do anything with the ECU to Improve HP?

Is there a chip ? or can it be sent in?

Thanks !!

Don't waste your time with mail order chips such as Jet. It does nothing but maybe change your timing a bit. A standalone ecu would do you much good.however, don't expect a lot of hp gain without adding force induction. A good tuning would net you 10hp with minor bolt-on.This is something you can't really appreciate.

If you want to take advantage of a "standalone ecu" and further improve HP without getting into boost then focus on the Head-work. I was able to pull about 136-38's at the wheels on an FM built head equip with integral stage 2 cams with I.H.E tuned before I went to boost. This was on my old miata with a 1.6 motor. I had a boosted miata already, so I just wanted to mess with the all motor route.Good luck.
