and as i have been reading it seems like the best thing to do while tuning is to do it from scratch. but that makes me nervous as ----. so i was looking in the settings section on mt and found al hounos's post from 06 with his tune for a turbo 1.6, and reading on i saw you (brain) were using it. so is it a good place to start, and edit from or should i just forge forward into the unknown?

Use the MSPNP base map. Search for AFR target tables, they're the important ones. I think JP has some good ones. Keep the MSPNP spark table, aka: DON'T ------- TOUCH IT.
Then use VEAL and those AFR targets to tune your fuel table. It's usually fairly rough at first.
