FS MA: 2012 Silver NC Turbo 300whp rocket ship w Ohlins, Roll Bar
For sale is my 2012 Liquid Silver Touring MX-5 soft top with just over 38,000mi.
Price: $19,000 OBO
This car makes 300whp and is the fastest thing you will find for under $20k. There is over $26k spent on this car in mods that you get to play with for a fraction of the cost.
Modifications:
- Ohlins DFV Coilovers...the best suspension kit for the MX-5 bar none:

- Blackbird Fabworx NC RZ Rollbar...gives you a couple inches of additional clearance (good for people who are 6'2" like me. I can sit comfortably below the top):

- TDR SFT Turbocharger Kit and ECU. This setup is tuned relatively conservative at only 300whp. Power comes on right around 2500rpm and she pulls hard all the way to redline. Please note that this setup DOES NOT disrupt the emissions system! She still has full PCV and catalytic converter:

- Denso 265 LPH Fuel Pump and 1000cc Injectors
- ACT HD Clutch with around 5000mi
- Falken Azenis RT615K+'s in 215/45R17 with 50% tread life left
- Full 3" dual exhaust with GESi Cat
This car is the fastest and best handling car you have probably ever driven.
My last car was a 2005 Legacy GT with 400awhp and I've also had the pleasure of driving a MB C63 AMG and this thing trounces both of them in an almost embarassing way.
That's what happens when you are pushing 300whp on a car that weighs only 2500lb! This is basically a budget Lotus Elise with twice the power.
Forged internals make sure that she can handle the power. Dunno why they did that but it's stock!
The rollbar makes it even stiffer through the body, translating every small movement of your steering input into the car responding immediately and precisely to your every wishes. Amazingly, it's actually better than stock over bumps...sounds crazy but it's true!
Traction control will keep you from turning it around in the corners if you are relatively inexperienced at handling a high powered RWD sports car.
AC blows cold and cruise control works great. Driver's seat brackets have been lowered so you're sitting even deeper in the car, helping for taller folks.
Issues:
- There is a scratch on the passenger side of the hood from a bike being removed from the wall hanger and dragged over it.
If you like fast cars with no roof then you owe it to yourself to take this thing for a test drive. There's really no way to describe the sound of the turbo and BOV once you get on it...it's worth experiencing in real life.
