Default Hydraulic's for clutch on a Monster

Since I bought the car...IDK if slave is inside bellhousing or not. All I know right now is I lost the clutch. Will check it out in AM. Damn I know Ford put in inside on my 02 Ranger, not one of their better ideas. Oh well drink some cold ones and worry about it tomorrow. EH it's not like it's my only Miata. David

Default Old Fart gets lucky

Yep I got lucky...Slave is on outside of bellhousing, looks to be stock Miata part. The Miata gods smiled on me today.

yea.. the slave is easy on the miata. i also have a 02 Ranger that needs a clutch badly. but i have no desire to do it, its 4wd so its an extra PIA.

Red, A 90 5.0 mustang had a cable, so I had no idea what type of slave was on car. Trust me it ain't as easy as a Miata, but it is the same part. I've got a few old ones around, but I had never rebuilt them. So got new ( or ) rebuilt coming from NAPA, along with WP for GFs truck. Back to Miata, it looks as this will be a hugh PITA to bleed...headers, O2sensors, and just no room down there. Price you pay for a V8.

you can buy a slave cylinder for $25 at autozone and I can only imagine it will be cheaper at NAPA. not worth a rebuild imho.

But yea, no silly ---- like putting the slave inside the transmission. Its pretty easy and if you are doing it, let me suggest you get the 949racing clutch line which skips over the coiled section.

Track the slave is on drivers side...NAPA is 27$, and it has a braided line just no curlyQ.

driver's side? you aren't talking about miata. Mine and every 94+ miata has it on the passenger side. Since I am compatible with a 1.6 clutch...you must be still talking about a ranger right?

I don't know why, but I figured NAPA would be cheaper than autozone... bastards!

Track its a 91 Monster Miata...5.O HO V8. Straight out of a 90 Mustang GT. I load a pic of bellhousing as soon as I can.

ohhhhhhhh >< Doh!! Now I get it. No worries, glad that ---- wasn't inside the bell housing. I get the feeling that American cars tend to like putting it in there. Chrysler/Jeep have a nasty habit of that in their 80s cars.
