Attention future Go Miata customers...
I know many of you have bought from Go Miata with a positive experience. I have not, and I believe you should know how I was treated by Konan Lee at Go Miata.
I ordered a AutoKonexion Miata NB Version 2 Carbon Fiber Replacement Trunk for my 1999 Miata on August 16, 2012. I knew going in that this could end up bad because of their purchase agreement you must except when ordering. Go Miata states on their website: "Please allow 2-10 business days for production of these Custom made parts by AutoKonexion. Since this are Custom made for your Miata they are non-returnable and non-refundable per AutoKonexion."
I did not know until the trunk lid was shipped on September 4th who the actual delivery carrier would be. On September 10th my trunk lid arrived crushed! The quality of the AutoKonexion Carbon Fiber trunk lid seemed great and it was packaged adequately. The problem was totally UPS's fault as there was a black tire print on the box!
So where does that leave me? Instead of Go Miata and/or AutoKonexion sending me another one ASAP, they state nothing will happen until the claim with UPS is settled. Go Miata is the middle-man, but they are the ones holding my money. Though the claim with UPS has been approved, nothing is going to happen until they see a check. Meanwhile, I'm 43 days into my order with no idea when I'll get another trunk lid or get my money back. I have informed Konan Lee at Go Miata that I want my money back ASAP, but again that won't happen until they get their money.
I also run a business and this is not the way I would have handled the situation. I would have ordered another trunk lid to be made ASAP or refunded my customer's money immediately. If they choose to wait on another trunk lid, I would have also refunded their shipping cost. Usually a disgruntled customer effects at least 3 to 5 more customers, maybe more. So far I've dealt with Good-Win Racing, Flyin' Miata, Deft Racing, Miata Roadster, 949 Racing, CARID and 5X Racing, all with good experiences even though there were problems at times. All orders were taken care of in a timely, professional manner.
I just wanted future Go Miata customers to know how I was treated.
