Turn signal out

Turn signal out
I don't know a thing about cars except the basics. I checked the fuse and from what I can understand one fuse controls both sides of the signal lights. My right light does not come on. It makes the sound but nothing happens. I have changed the bulb as well. Still nothing. I was thinking maybe the wiring but don't know how to begin to look for it. Is there a way to tell it if definately the wiring verses another issue?

Was there any corrosion in the socket? Sometimes water can get to them. I've needed to scuff the contacts down in the socket with sandpaper or scratch it with the tip of a screwdriver. Test it with a multimeter or test light and follow it back to its origin after that. There will be a bad connection somewhere. Hopefully it will be easy.

I will have to give this info to my friend who is trying to figure it out. I appreciate your response. Thanks so much.

Turn signal flasher relay. The part number is 3211-167-320. Mazda is very proud of them (big bucks). You can buy them used. I got mine used from BTDT racing for about $20. Blake is a decent guy. There are others who sell them as well. It pays to look around.

This really confirms for me you guys or gals on here know your stuff. Today I had a person who knows a little bit about cars checking the lighting situation. Sure enough he discovered this little box in the underside on drivers side. He tapped on it and sure enough my right signal would come on briefly then go back out. He read off some numbers on the box and those where the numbers! It's great to see he was right! And thanks to you we know what it's called so I can try and find one used as you mentioned. Thanks so much.

You are most welcome. There are a number of used parts sources that can fix you up in short order. Or you can go to a wrecking yard and get the parts yourself. That flasher relay was used in several different Mazdas.
Enjoy your new ride.

This is so great. I guess my next question to you is with this link "flasher relay" link I went there and do I just need to give the part number? I'm really at a loss when it comes to this car stuff. I just don't want to order the wrong thing.
