Pics?

Are they actual terminals on the battery, or are these additional wires coming off the battery? If terminals are they connected to anything?

It's a sealed battery inside a sealed trunk. The small side posts help to vent to the outside of the car. When you replace the battery, just pop the hoses back on and make sure they don't kink. My last battery was different for some reason, but just cut up the rubber hose till it fit nicely, and added a plastic air tee from the autoparts store.

If the connections are the hydrogen vents, the old battery, which is still installed should have them also. Simply reattach the existing tubing to the new battery vents.
