Default gearbox oil / turret oil

hey guys, so id like to change out the oil in the turret and gearbox.(also have to replace the shift boots) i have a 1990 NA, and i was just curious as to whats the best oil for said turret and gearbox. any suggestions? thanks

I'm using 1 quart off the shelf synthetic Valvoline and one quart Redline shockproof. The five speed shifts much better than it used to. The 3rd gear synchros used to complain before the shockproof was added.

now i dont mean to sounds stupid but synthetic valvoline trans fluid? also, can i buy the redline in the same place? via Advanced Auto, Napa, ?
