Default Can you change ring and pinion on vlsd?

I killed my rear end today... from what i can tell sounds like it may have broke a tooth off the ring gear.. thought it was a u joint until i removed the driveshaft.. anyhow ive read that the vlsd is not serviceable but is it true you cant even swap out the ring and pinion?

Buy my 3.9 LSD instead. It's clean and from GA. Come pick it up and I won't charge you shipping.

(Even if you could) Its not worth the repair. the VLSD breaks on stock power, considering you are turbo'd and have plans for a future rebuild with big power numbers, I would definitely get a 94+ rear end.

Oh Crap, I forgot it's not that easy of a swap for you. It's just the LSD out of a NB2 as I too have an NB. I picked it up for $700 after shipping.

ya if im goin torsen i need the full swap... Im thinkin of just picking up another vlsd on the cheap and blowing it out in like a month lol! I actuall found a spotless 91 same color as mine and with a hardtop and no engine at a shop down the street sitting with no engine for like 6mos so i called the shop today.. apparently its a customers car thiy're rebuiling the motor and didnt want to sell damnit! I knew this was coming with a healthy engine/clutch... I really need to get a torsen so when i get the $$ up to buy a clean body and build the car i want i have all the parts. But i do need the full swap for sure. Id get a nb but I like the old school flipper lights.. the na miatas are just a drivers car

I think you just need the axels to make it work from an NB. I don't have it for sale, so PM me if you ever decide you want it. I bought the 3.9 as I intended to turbo, but I changed my mind and would rather have a 4.3 in it if I stay NA.
