Sixshooter's Slow Torture™ Build, A Study in Automotive Masochism

Update time.
I took the engine out and disassembled it.
The block will be machined .5mm over for new forged Supertech pistons in 8.6 cr. I acquired a used set of Brian Crower forged I-beam connecting rods. I have ACL bearings, got the crank polished, got M10 inconel turbo to manifold studs from Full Race, got a blank coolant reroute spacer to work with (needs some drilling/tapping), ARP head and main stud kits, and a new Mazda head gasket.
I also ordered a triple pass stock car radiator. We'll see if it can be made to fit.
I am also doing some other reliability mods. I'm flipping the water pump inlet and also trying to get my V-band adapter welded on my turbine housing. The adapter kept loosening and the water lines were in close proximity to the turbo.
Town. I'm going there.

Running the turbo on the track generated so much heat in the exhaust manifold, turbo, and downpipe, that it melted the dipstick handle and the hot plastic drops went into the oil pickup and oil pump. It had to come apart to make sure there was nothing left in the block or head.
I'll be using the same turbo but will be able to turn up the boost after the forged internals are added. I will also need bigger injectors to turn it up, so those are in the longer range plan.

I just had a track weekend at Sebring on newly redone engine. I still need to make some adjustments. The wastegate actuator isn't holding closed and the wastegate itself is binding a bit when it opens. I need to check the diaphragm in the actuator.
The new radiator and reroute works well. We'll see if the same thing can be said this summer.
Cooling down in the garage:
This was my first track event on the Cobalt XR2/XR4 combination. I liked it very much. Modulation was more precise than with the Hawk Blues and they seemed to maintain their consistency when they got really hot. I was impressed.

Yes, I installed the Deatschwerks 700cc injectors in place of the RX7 460cc that were in the car previously. The 460's were running out of headroom as I started inching up the boost pressure.
