Its sitting at my friends house, his dads gonna buff it up for me.

I have been going at it with wire wheel, it's got some deep corrosion, then 800 and 1000 grit sandpaper to even scratches. Finally polish wheel and metal polish

Are you trying to polish it to a shine? Or just clean it up? Polishing it will require that you sand/grind the texture out of the casting- then when you've worked your way up to a fine sandpaper move on to a machine polish or a hand polish like Mothers aluminum polish.

i want to do that, but i dont have the machinery patience required so im just going to make it shinny. plus i kinda like the texture
